Playable Media is committed to research on play, games, interactive entertainment and art.
With multidisciplinary backgrounds, we are studying game history, game design practices, player communities, playable art, game art aesthetics and we are constantly building new projects for original research and publication. Our node includes a range of Masters and PhD students pursuing projects on gender, game criticism, player mastery and difficulty, experimental art games, queer play, game exhibition curation and many other topics.
Playable Media invites researchers from within RMIT and around the world to participate and contribute to projects that both compliment and extend our disciplinary backgrounds and projects.
